Welcome!

Thank you for considering The White Oak for your special vacation and celebration.   Glenn and I are excited about the possibility of  sharing the unique beauty of the property that means so much to our family.  Glenn's grandparents were both born and raised in eastern North Carolina, and Glenn spent many summers during his youth here on the beautiful Crystal Coast.  When I first came to visit I was overwhelmed by the unique features here on the bluff 45 feet above the water.  There is a certain rejuvenating energy between the canopy of Live Oaks, and the consistent southwest breezes across Bogue Sound.  Our south facing orientation provides both lovely sunrise and spectacular sunset views.  Although we have made many improvements to the property, we also have worked hard to maintain a certain casual comfort here.  Who doesn't love to kick off their shoes and be comfortable at the beach?  At the day's end we want you to feel right at home!

Sincerely,

Catherine and Glenn White

Our History

Born and raised in eastern North Carolina, Fleeta and Glenn White purchased property on the Crystal Coast at Atlantic Beach shortly after they were married in the early 1900s.  Following the devastation of Hurricane Hazel in 1954, they began looking for property off the beach.  Once they saw the beautifully wooded lots on the bluff at the highest point overlooking Bogue Sound in Morehead City , they knew they had found their new beach home.  Originally four separate lots, the Whites assembled their three acre parcel by purchasing adjacent lots as they became available over the next few years.

In 2011, we took over management of the property.  Many improvements were made including renovating the houses, adding fencing, landscaping, a pier, a tiered deck and other amenities.

We invite you to  build your own special memories by hosting your vacation right here at The White Oak.  Come and enjoy all that is part of North Carolina's spectacular Crystal Coast!

In 2017, after completing many renovation projects, our daughter Sally married Will at The White Oak. It began as a family vacation home and beautiful grounds with a fishing pier. After hosting Sally & Will’s wedding here, we knew we would want to share the beauty and magic with other families for years to come. We look forward to celebrating your wedding at The White Oak!

Then, in 2023, our son Peter married Michelle under the Live Oaks and we celebrated again!
